King Charles Makes First Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis
King Charles III has made his first public appearance since Buckingham Palace confirmed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. The appearance comes less than 18 months after he ascended the throne.
Following medical advice, the King has temporarily stepped back from public duties while undergoing treatment. Palace officials have stated that he remains optimistic and intends to resume his full schedule as soon as his health allows.
The King and Queen Camilla were recently seen leaving Clarence House and traveling to Sandringham. During the journey, the couple waved and smiled at members of the public. They later boarded a helicopter from Buckingham Palace and arrived at the Norfolk estate shortly before 5 p.m.
While the Palace has not disclosed details about the specific type of cancer or the outpatient hospital involved, it has confirmed that the King has begun a regular treatment program under the care of a specialist medical team.
Members of the royal family have shown their support during this time. Several relatives, including Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have visited the King at Clarence House in London. Additional visits from close family and friends are expected as news of his condition continues to be shared.
Buckingham Palace has emphasized that the King remains in good spirits and appreciates the public’s support and well wishes as he focuses on his recovery.
